What is a Disciple Making Movement?
Disciples making disciples who make disciples. Groups that start groups. No building required.
Wherever you are starting from
A Disciple Making Movement (DMM) is what happens when ordinary believers start reading the Bible with people who do not yet follow Jesus, and those people go on to do the same with others. Four generations later, nobody is waiting on a professional.
Most of it happens around a table. Someone asks a group of friends what they would like to read together, and a Discovery Bible Study (DBS) begins. The group discovers what the passage says, what it means for them this week, and who they will tell.
You already know the practices. What tends to decide whether a group multiplies is the habits underneath them: abiding prayer, obedience-based discipleship, and handing responsibility away earlier than feels comfortable.
Our training and coaching focus on you growing to the second and third generations. We work through your real groups, not case studies.
Coaches carry the weight of other people's discouragement. We train coaches to ask better questions, keep the reporting simple, and evaluate movements by what is reproducing rather than by attendance.
Ask us about the coaching cohort and the evaluation tools our area coordinators use in the field.
Five minutes, no jargon: how disciples make disciples who make disciples, and what that has looked like across North America.

Six steps that keep repeating
Motivated by the Father's heart of love for people, we develop six habits in our lives and pass them on to the next generation. Nothing here is a program with an end date. The cycle runs again in every new group, with new people leading it each time.

None of this is new
Jesus sent ordinary people into homes, told them to look for the person who would welcome them, and left the multiplying to the Spirit. Paul entrusted what he had received to faithful people who would teach others (2 Timothy 2:2). The pattern of the New Testament is households, not institutions.
We keep coming back to a handful of passages in our training: Luke 10, Matthew 28, Acts 2, and 2 Timothy 2:2. They shape how we start, who we look for, and what we hand over.
Luke 10
Go two by two. Look for the household that welcomes you.
Matthew 28
Make disciples, and teach them to obey everything.
Acts 2
House to house, learning, breaking bread, and praying.

A mission field closer than we thought
Even though North America is not known for its unreached people groups, it is known for a large percentage of people who are far from God. The best estimates would say about 10% of the population are actively involved in a local Christian church.
Nominal Christianity, secularism, and a whole host of other things are finding more traction than the love of our heavenly Father. Our churches, ministries, and individuals are in desperate need to embrace a different form of disciple making. One that DMM seems to fit right into.
